Hi, I'm Marvin the Making Links Monkey
In school we use our ‘making links’ learning behaviour to help us learn how to make connections between what we know and our experiences to understand new ideas better. In school your child may do this by: using their addition skills to work out their times tables or linking stories or texts to ones they already have experience with.
At home you can help your child to make links by; asking if the story they are reading is similar to another they have read and if they can use a skill they already know and are confident with to help them solve a problem.
